DiscoverULife is a membership website that was launched on 8.07.07, based on a system of determining your dream goals, and then keeping you in check to stay on 'course' - a sure fire way to make sure one doesn't falter or 'relapse' after having committed to living a spectacular life.
This is a video that one of the subscribers to successinislam.com designed.
May Allah reward her.
This is just a reminder that in 48 hours, in sha Allah, atexactly 8:07pm this Tuesday 8/07, the new membership websitethat we have been talking about, DiscoverULife, will go live.

Fouzia asks ...
But you must FIRST start with what you want. Is this short term goal or long term goal? Because we always wish what we want, but sometimes it wont be possible in the near future. So, should we define our needs that are in our control? Please clarify.-fouzia

Answer:
Here's the thing, I would question if your long term goal really isn't possible in the near future. I'm pretty sure that some part of it can get done immediately, once you commit yourself.
Let's say you have a long term goal of owning a really expensive car. What's the specific result that you are after? Is it OWNING the car, or being able to DRIVE a car like that? If you are more specific, i.e. you don't care too much about owning it, you just want to DRIVE it, then you could lease a car like that for much less. How long did that supposed 'Long term' goal take? Maybe 2 months.
Does that make sense? (I get the feeling you are asking about something else but trying to be a little vague about it, so it's causing my answer to be a little general)
Regarding your question about defining needs that are in our control? As a start, I would say yes, focus on what's in your control. For starters. Like for the first 3 months or so.
But after then, once you have mastered those things that are in your control, you will get BORED.
So, at that point, I would encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and begin working on INFLUENCING others in ways that bring massive benefit to them.
And Allah knows best.
Jazakum Allahu khayr for your question.
